6th Grade Spanish (Sra.Brown)

 

Students have learned the origin of Cinco de Mayo which was celebrated with nachos and salsa! They are studying the vocabulary necessary to discuss different languages. (Que lenguas hablas? Hablo griego y italiano.) While learning about Cuba, the following topics will be discussed: The Bay of Pigs, The Cuban Missile Crisis and Elian Gonzalez. Next leccion: School supplies and the Dominican Republic. Students are encouraged to access practice quizzes and e-games on the school’s website under “World Languages”.

7th Grade Spanish (Sra.Brown)

Students participated in an egg hunt where they had to find the hidden egg by reading the clue en espanol. Cinco de Mayo was discussed and celebrated with nachos and salsa! The 7th graders are currently studying the vocabulary necessary to shop for school supplies and clothing. The expressions “tener que” (to have to) and “ir a” (going to..) will be introduced. To show what they have learned, they will create and perform their own shopping skits. Students are encouraged to access practice quizzes and e-games on the school’s website under “World Languages”.
